Punk By The Sea collapses - the punks save it at the Barn
for those of you stranded in Pompey today, gutted for you. Cringing at the way all the bands and folk who helped pull off last night's dying punk by the sea event have been treated, the event is now cancelled. . . . however SHAM 69 are playing the barn tonight, other bands are on throughout the day from 4.30, enjoy yourselves and moshpit it all out of ya. Credit to bubba and pursey and all the bands that went ahead and played the past two days. hx

The host closes the site down
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: the pompeypunks site is being closed down by the hosts. . . on the 23rd jan you will no longer be able to login to your account. . I have scraped as much of it as I can and will be posting updates about more details re the future of the site over the next week. I fully recommend that you visit your account (you may not be able to login, I'm trying to resurrect this at the moment) but it is there, so if you want to save any blog posts or conversations, please do. . . I am archiving the photos and will be adding them to your new account on the new site when it is finished.
I'm sorry for this rude interruption by the hungry money grabbing company who host it (they want $1000/mth!) the DIY punk attitude will win true. . . Please pass this on to anyone you know with an account on the site. hxFrom the Facebook page · #

The first project created to achieve this mammoth task is the ‘pompeypunk girl’ . . . ladies, send in your favorite punk photo of yourself, you will be asked to answer a few questions, then your profile will be featured on the pompeypunks.co.uk website . . . really looking forward to seeing your take on what shaped you . . . boys next! hx

Empti Fish support The Damned
"This is a picture of Ian Sonic playing sci-fi guitar for Emptifish at the Tramshed, Cardiff while supporting The Damned on tour in December 2016 .... the photograph is by Nick Evans (we hope Nick will be in touch about more photographs). I dunno about you but this is just TOTAL rock n roll to me. The Damned lads told us it was their favourite gig of the tour (ok, ok along with the Pyramids Centre, Portsmouth) .... it was certainly a special night for Emptifish ... sold out audience, venue rammed full even before we went on ... as Georgie Wipeout said to us before the Margate show with The Damned "for Sonic", I'm sure you all know what he means .... we really hope to see you all on Saturday at The Wedgewood Rooms for the launch of the new Emptifish EP "Sonic's Got A Ray Gun" ... we, and the other great acts (makes sure you catch The Glorias first on!) will indeed be "doing it for Sonic" ... for both Sonic's in fact! And, it's Damian O'Delic's birthday too, so make sure you bring him a card ... "you know he wants it ...." Copies of the EP should be available to pick-up/buy on the night, so bring some proof of who you are if you have pre-orderd ... everyone else get ready for the bunfight for this strictly limited edition pink vinyl 10" ... now, this is how to beat the mid-January blues x" . . . tony rollinson
